Problem
A user may encounter a BitLocker recovery screen after firmware changes, dock firmware updates, or TPM reset events.
Environment
Windows laptops enrolled in device management.
Technician resolution
Internal operational procedure.
Validate the user, confirm asset ownership in Inventory, retrieve the recovery key from the approved management system, record the reason in the ticket, and schedule firmware remediation when the device returns to Windows.
Internal notes
Never send recovery keys through chat. Use voice verification and document the asset tag, requester, and ticket number.
