Problem
A dock may stop enumerating displays, USB devices, or Ethernet after Windows firmware drift or interrupted dock updates.
Environment
Dell Latitude laptops using WD22 or WD22TB4 docks in Birmingham and Huntstown offices.
Technician resolution
Internal operational procedure.
Confirm AC power, remove the laptop, run Dell Command Update, apply the WD22 firmware package, power-cycle the dock for 90 seconds, then reconnect the laptop. If Ethernet remains unavailable, replace the dock and attach this article to the ticket.
Internal notes
Use the spare pool before ordering new docks. Record the dock asset tag and laptop asset tag in the ticket so recurring model failures stay visible.
